Employment outlook appears to be stabilising
Fri 8 May 2009
IRC & Griffin Personnel recently conducted a survey with clients and the results indicate that most companies are anticipating no change in their staffing numbers over the meduim and long term.
70% of companies who responded predict that their staffing numbers will remain constant over the next quarter
46% predicted that this will remain the case over the next year.
23% are forecasting a drop in staffing numbers over the next quarter and the same number predict a drop over the next year.
In what appears to be a glimmer of hope for the longer term 15% of those who responded are predicting that there will be an increase in staff over the next year though none of the companies who responded see any increases in the next three months.
There was an element of uncertaintly amongst those who responded with 1% unsure of changes over the next quarter and & 15% unsure of staffing changes over the next year.
We also surveyed clients on what they look for when working with a recruitment consultancy.
Quality of CVs and efficiency of service emerged as the most popular answers followed closely by recruitment consultancies having a strong understanding of their client's business.
