We are now recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer with a mechanical aptitude for a well known multi-national in Limerick, the ideal candidate will display good leadership capability, project management skills, mechanical aptitude and an ability to work with cross functional teams to meet project milestones on time and within budget

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide ongoing support in the development and maintenance of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Level 8 Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a fast paced engineering environment
  • Strong background working with CNC machines and CADCAM / Solidworks and AutoCad software packages desirable
  • Ability to read P&ID and mechanical drawings
  • Experience working with and mentoring technicians desirable

Person/Skills Required:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven process engineering skills

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintain and improve existing key metrics, manage updates and deliver
  • Provide engineering support for precision machining, finishing and assembly
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • Troubleshoot new products and process working closely with product development
  • Assist and develop operatives and technicians in optimization of machining processes for safety, quality, schedule and cost guidelines
  • Consult with management, engineering, quality and production regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for cycle time, cost, scrap and machine downtime reduction
  • Ensure compliance to industry quality and environmental standards; develop and implement appropriate supporting documentation
  • Share knowledge and experience with others and provide relevant training to colleagues, where required
  • Any other duties as reasonably required
