About this Position

Our client is looking for a Global Category Manager for their professional services categories that is committed to achieving results while maintaining a high level of determination and strong desire to over achieve. This position has procurement responsibility for all professional services related to consulting, marketing, contract labour, training and advanced engineering development. The Global Category Manager reports directly to the Global Services Manager and has a high level of visibility and interaction with some key leadership stakeholders due to the nature of the services being procured.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies to meet business and corporate objectives
  • Partner with global category leadership and internal constituents to ensure strategy is fully aligned to business vision and objectives
  • Actively manage and support all professional services sourcing with a high focus on quality, timeliness and innovation
  • Manage critical path activities for any supplier disputes and project execution
  • Key influencer and makes recommendations to key stakeholders for services recommendations
  • Helps manage the RFQ, bid appraisal and supplier selection process
  • Optimises and maintains our supply base in accordance to category strategy
  • Monitor supplier performance from a cost and service level perspective

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field
  • +3 Years Category Management experience in Professional Services.
  • 7 years of indirect procurement experience
  • Ability to interact and influence executive leadership
  • Experience analyzing and making data based decisions for forecasting and strategy development
  • Experience to deliver performance based objectives
  • International experience working across multiple business units and countries
  • Strong leadership capability with ability to pivot when necessary
